How you will contribute as part of the TRCA Volunteer team:
Attention high school students! Get your volunteer hours and gain leadership experience in a fun and active outdoor setting at Kortright's day camps this summer! You will support staff in leading a fun and safe camp experience, creating summertime memories for children from ages 4 -12. We offer a variety of themes such as Wilderness Survival, Art in Nature, Leadership Adventures and Forest Magic. This position is ideal for those who love working with children, enjoy the outdoors, want to learn new skills or gain experience in an outdoor education setting.
What you will do as a volunteer:
- Assist with the set-up and clean-up of games and activities
- Organize and care for educational materials and resources
- Maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive environment
- Assist with the delivery of nature-based programming
- Assist with leading guided hikes and ensure participant safety while outdoors
- Engage campers with activities and make camp fun for kids!
- Adhere to all TRCA safety policies and procedures
- Engage with campers and ensure they have fun!
What will you need to succeed:
- Must be at least 14 years old as of June 28 2026
- Must be able to commit to at least one full week
- Comfortable working in an outdoor setting
- Strong communication skills
- Interested in working with children
