Job Description

Calling all animal champions with big hearts! Want to make a positive impact on the lives of furry friends in need? We're searching for passionate volunteers to join our Pet Food Pantry Crew!

Think of the job like this:

  • Pantry Wizard: Help organize and distribute food to people at the SPCA as well as at community events. You'll be like a superhero with a grocery cart, ensuring furry bellies stay full and happy.
  • Community Connector: Spread the word about the pantry's mission and connect with animal lovers at events, helping families in need.
  • Helping Paw: Lend a hand with various tasks, from packing bags of food to setting up at events. No worries, we'll show you the ropes and be there every step of the way.

All you need is a big heart, a love for animals, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves (sometimes literally if we're working with big bags of dog food!).

Commitment

If you're up for volunteering two to four hours a week with us on a schedule that works for you, then this position is just what you're looking for!

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Your inner Marie Kondo can rejoice, because you'll get to unleash your organizing skills, keeping the pantry and storeroom spic-and-span.
  • Forget boring desk jobs! This role has built-in adventure, too. You'll be zooming around Erie County delivering pantry orders to families who need a helping paw. Plus, you'll get to join us at community events, spreading the word about the pantry's mission and helping even more animals in need.
  • Every rescue, every adoption, every happy bark, purr, and squeak – that's what drives us here at the SPCA. We all share the same values and goals and believe that every volunteer should feel the same! Everyone’s help makes a difference for animals!

Requirements

  • Ready to build some serious bicep muscle? You'll be lifting bags of food and litter, some up to 50 pounds! Think of it as your furry fitness routine, with the bonus of happy tail wags as your reward.
  • Eye for detail? We love that! Your keen attention will come in handy as you bag and label everything from crunchy kibble to kitty litter.
  • Got a valid driver's license and a clean driving record? Buckle up! You'll be zooming around Erie County delivering pantry orders to families who need a helping hand.
  • You’ll also sprinkle kindness everywhere you go – it’s part of our mission! From animals and guests to volunteers and staff, your exceptional warmth will make a difference.
