City of Waterloo, Community Services - Outdoor Ice Rinks


Do you enjoy ice skating and meeting people in your neighbourhood?  The City of Waterloo is seeking responsible community-minded adults or teens age 16 and older to be rink volunteers at one of the City of Waterloo's outdoor ice rinks.

Outdoor Ice Rink Volunteers work in pairs and maintain the rinks by flooding and snow shoveling, caring for equipment and keeping a watchful eye on the rinks.

Convenors train the ooutdoor ice rink volunteers to operate their neighbourhood rink and coordinate the volunteer schedule, ensuring a minimum of two volunteers per shift.

Outdoor Ice Rink Volunteers maintain the rinks by flooding and snow shoveling, caring for equipment and keeping a watchful eye on the rinks.

Volunteers maintain the rinks by flooding and snow shoveling, caring for equipment and keeping a watchful eye on the rinks. 

Convenor volunteers  train the volunteers to operate their neighbourhood rink and coordinate the volunteer schedule, ensuring a minimum of two volunteers per shift. 

A minimum commitment of 2 hours per week is required.
