Sense Vision England Holidays Volunteer

Sense Vision England Holidays Volunteer

Do you have experience of supporting young people with disabilities? Looking to get out and about in nature?

If so, volunteering on a Sense Vision England Holiday provides you with a unique experience to connect with people, learn new skills and make special memories.

With a focus on supporting young people to play a leading role in changing their local communities and environment for the better, these holidays are for young people aged 11-24 years with a disability and are taking place in the October half term:

  • 23rd - 30th October 2021 - Malham Tarn, North Yorkshire
  • 23rd - 30th October 2021 - Preston Montford, Shrewsbury
  • 24th - 31st October 2021 - Juniper Hall, Surrey

The holiday will be based around activities like tree planting, shelter building, wildlife walks, bush craft, hiking and camping, so if you love being out and about in nature, this is the volunteer role for you! We bring people together for holidays full of fun, friendship and new experiences. You will be key to this; providing hands on support for people on the holiday – from supporting people to participate in group activities, supporting the building of friendships to providing support with basic personal care.

“Many years ago, I remember seeing the Sense Christmas advert and it made quite an impression on me. Throughout the years, I'd done voluntary work but never in a holiday setting. I was quite nervous going but felt really supported by the team and my fellow volunteers. That being said, nothing could prepare me for the whirlwind of emotions that came with my first Sense Holiday. Watching the holidaymakers become more confident and making friends was really special but, hearing how important the break is for families has kept me coming back year after year.” Jack's experience of volunteering on a Sense Holiday.
