Are you passionate about pottery and education? Our Workshop Volunteers help learners on our internationally renowned Learning and Participation Programme. Our courses and workshops attract a huge range of people – from experienced potters to children touching clay for the first time; from adults within our community bolstering their well-being to school children deepening their skills.

What you do as a Volunteer:

  • Help staff prepare for and clean up after workshops
  • Welcome learners and offer encouragement to those who need additional assistance including repeating demos when needed
  • Gain experience in working with young people, children and community groups
  • Help ensure items are named and structurally sound before firing (you may need to amend pieces that aren’t)

Skills you can bring:

  • A warm, friendly and approachable manner
  • Knowledge and experience with clay
  • Good communication skills
