Programmatic - Teen Authors Corner
Do you love to write and want to spend time with fellow writers? Would you like to help plan and run friendly writing critique circles and other activities or events that center around writing? Help us create a safe space for teens to write, workshop, learn and grow together as writers while developing leadership skills and earning community service hours!
How You Will Make a Difference
You will be encouraging and inspiring more teens to get back into or pursue creative writing and expressing themselves through words.
Volunteers are needed to:
- Facilitate monthly critique circle meetings of the Teen Authors Corner (virtually and in-person)
- Attend all planning meetings with the Teen Authors Corner's leadership team.
- Be proactive in hosting Teen Authors Corner's activities and events
- Practice excellent communication skills by checking in with and responding to the coordinating librarian and other leadership team members in a timely manner
- Model professional behavior for critique circles and other hosted events and activities

Commitment/Schedule
Willingness to volunteer at least twice a month for a 9-month duration. The commitment is at least one school year.
Prospective volunteers should:
- Be comfortable with giving critique to an audience of your peers (ages 11-18)
- Possess the ability to take initiative and work with a small group or independently
- Be dependable, punctual, and responsible

Qualifications Required
- Age Must be at least 13+
