The Salvation Army - Wichita Koch Center

The Salvation Army is committed to continue serving those in need throughout our community.  Wichita City Commander, Major James Curl shares, “The Salvation Army is here to serve the people who need us. We want the community to know we will maintain our services and taking precautions as needed”.

Thank you for your consideration to volunteer
for The Salvation Army. For returning volunteers...we APPRECIATE YOU AND YOUR HELP and we are working to keep all our volunteers safe! Our most urgent need is volunteers to help pack and on occasion just pass out food and snack bags to those in need.

Following the lead with our global leadership, We are closely monitoring developments by following the CDC, state and county guidelines and recommendations. We are working closely with the local Emergency Operations Center to keep the community we serve informed and safe.

We are also providing prevention guidance to all Salvation Army staff, volunteers and program participants on proper hygiene and prevention. We have increased all our cleaning efforts at all our facilities, including our shelter and kitchens. Our staff is regularly cleaning and disinfecting in an effort to prevent a potential spread of virus.

Generous volunteers like you help fulfill our promise to do the most good in the Wichita Metro area and Sedgwick County. Thank you for looking for ways to donate your time and talents.

Below you will find current opportunities. Through the year our needs change and hope you will continue to frequently check this page and review current and future needs.

If you have specific questions about positions listed or about the application process (upper right), please contact or email our Volunteer Coordinator, Brenda Awtrey at 316-425-6133, or by email at: brenda.awtrey@usc.salvationarmy.org. She will be happy to meet and discuss what opportunities may be a perfect fit for you.
