The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation is recruiting volunteers to support Valley Center National Night Out in partnership with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
National Night Out brings residents, law enforcement, community organizations, and local families together for an evening focused on community connection, public safety, and neighborhood partnerships.
Volunteers are needed to help prepare the park before the event, assist guests and event partners during the celebration, and restore the event area afterward.
Volunteer Assignments
Event Setup | 3:00–5:00 p.m.
- Help arrange tables, chairs, signs, activity areas, and event materials
- Assist participating organizations as they arrive
- Prepare the park to welcome community members
Event Support | 5:00–7:00 p.m.
- Welcome and direct attendees
- Help monitor activity and information areas
- Distribute materials and assist event partners
- Help keep the event area clean, organized, and welcoming
Event Teardown | 7:00–7:30 p.m.
- Collect signs, supplies, and event materials
- Help return tables and chairs to designated locations
- Pick up litter and assist with restoring the park
Volunteers may serve for the entire 3:00–7:30 p.m. shift or request a specific assignment. Volunteers who can remain through teardown are especially appreciated.
Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Bring sun protection and a refillable water bottle. Some assignments may require standing, walking, or moving lightweight event materials.

Qualifications Required
- Ages 16 and up
