  • Our volunteer program requires a minimum 6‑month commitment. Please consider your personal schedule, upcoming plans, and long‑term availability to ensure you can commit consistently.
  • Review the details of each volunteer opportunity carefully, and apply only to roles that are currently open, align with what you are looking for, match your availability, and suit your experience level.

Supporting Cats In Centre

 

We are currently accepting applications from individuals who meet all of the following criteria:

 

Availability & Commitment:

  • Able to volunteer once per week for the next 6 months

  • Regular, ongoing weekly availability

  • Shifts available Monday–Sunday, between 9:30am–4:30pm

  • No evening shifts

  • Each shift is approximately 2 hours

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum age: 16

  • Experience with cats is required

 

Mandatory Onboarding Process:

  • Completion of online training

  • Completion of onsite training

  • Applicants will receive an invitation to orientation only after:

    • Successful screening

    • Completion of online training

 

Supporting Dogs In Centre (may include dog walking)

 

Only applications that meet all of the following criteria will be considered:

 

Availability & Commitment:

  • Regular, ongoing weekly availability for the next 6 months

  • Commitment of one shift per week

  • Shifts available Monday–Sunday, between 9:30am–4:30pm

  • No evening shifts

  • Each shift is approximately 2 hours

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum age: 19

  • Experience with dogs is required

 

Animal Profile:

  • Many dogs in our care are large to extra‑large breeds. Some may be:
    • Fearful or anxious

    • Still working on house training

    • Still learning leash skills

  • Applicants must be comfortable and confident handling dogs with a range of behaviours and training needs.

 

Mandatory Onboarding Process

  • Completion of online training

  • Completion of onsite training

  • Note: Applicants will receive an invitation to orientation only after successful screening and completion of online training.

 

 

 

Foster Care Volunteer

 

If you're 19 or older and interested in making a meaningful impact through fostering, we’d love to invite you to apply - we hope you can support in any of the following ways:

 

  • You’re able and willing to care for large or extra-large breed dogs, or
  • You’re open to fostering animals needing behavior support (such as under-socialized cats or dogs), or
  • You can care for animals with medical needs, including those recovering from surgery, or
  • You can support kittens that require bottle feeding every few hours, or
  • You can support animals that may need specialized fostering (or PPE fostering), or
  • You can support senior animals.

 

Commitment:

  • You can commit to a minimum of 6 months (6 months available to receive foster requests. Foster placement and length depend on matching results and individual animal needs)
