About the Program
Nestled at 796 Main Road, McLaren Vale, the award-winning McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre serves as the entrance to the Fleurieu Peninsula. Surrounded by vineyards, this architecturally and environmentally designed centre is strategically positioned on the main road as you enter the picturesque McLaren Vale township. Our mission is to share information and stories with the public, showcasing the beauty of this region.
Key Tasks
- Offer a professional, warm, and friendly welcome to visitors at the centre
- Assist with visitor inquiries as needed
- Support administrative tasks as required
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by centre staff
- Participate in volunteer meetings and stay updated on centre communications/information
- Attend familiarisation tours of the local region to enhance relevant knowledge.
Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- General knowledge of tourist attractions, venues, and community services in McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast
- Proficient in computer, internet, and typing skills
- Ability to provide accurate and clear directions
- Genuine interest in tourism and a deep passion for McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast
- Positive and committed attitude with the ability to work collaboratively as a team member
- Ability to relate to a diverse range of people and backgrounds.
Time Commitment
Volunteer shifts are currently available on Sundays, from 10am to 1pm.
