About the Program
Woodcroft Library is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be part of our vibrant team. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your community by getting involved in a variety of activities—from organising our collection to supporting local initiatives. Connect with staff, volunteers, and community members in a fun, supportive environment while gaining valuable experience and building lasting relationships.
Key Tasks
- Provide a professional, welcoming and friendly service
- Assist in the maintenance and presentation of the library, and its collections
- Assist in the preparation of various library events and displays
- Provide digital literacy information and instruction service
- Assist library staff in pursuing digital literacy programs and activities
- Support adults with the challenges of adopting and utilising new technologies in a meaningful way
- Use personal protective equipment and comply with Safe Work Procedures.
Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to work for an extended length of time in a public area.
- Able to follow direction from library staff.
- Physically able to fulfil the role.
- Ability to be on your feet for lengthy periods.
Time Commitment
Mondays, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Special Requirements
- Must possess and provide a current Department of Human Services (DHS) “Cleared” Working with Children Check.
- Attend Child Safe Environment training.
