About the Program
Wardli is a thriving community hub in Christie Downs, home to the Wardli Youth Centre, Neporendi Aboriginal Community Centre, community programs, tenants and a range of venue hire activities. As one of the first points of contact for visitors, Reception & Operations Support Volunteers help create a welcoming, inclusive and culturally safe environment while supporting the day-to-day operations of the precinct.
Key Tasks
- Welcome visitors, community members, tenants and program participants.
- Assist with enquiries and direct people to programs, services and locations within the precinct.
- Support visitor registration, bookings and room scheduling activities.
- Assist with room setup and preparation for programs, meetings and venue hire activities.
- Provide general administrative support to staff.
- Help maintain organised, welcoming and functional community spaces.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and culturally safe environment for all visitors.
- Participate in volunteer training and development opportunities
Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities
- Friendly, welcoming and customer-focused.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Well organised and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Respectful, professional and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Interest in community services, youth engagement and community development.
Time Commitment
Rostered positions available weekly from 9:30am to 4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Let us know what suits you.
Special Requirements
- Must possess and provide a Department of Human Services (DHS) ‘not prohibited’ Working with Children Check prior to offer
- Must possess and provide a Department of Human Services (DHS) clearance (Aged Care Sector) prior to offer
- Attend Child Safe Environment training
- Attend Cultural Awareness Training
