Libraries - Summer Reading Challenge Volunteer
Purpose: Are you looking for something exciting to do over the summer? We need volunteers to help with reading, and to encourage children up to the age of 11 to read six books over the summer holidays. This unique role will allow you to give back and help the community though the summer holidays, while adding to your personal skill and experience set.
Frequency and Duration: Summer Holidays (Beginning of July to end of September). Sessions run from Monday to Sunday AM, PM and evenings. Volunteers can arrange individual shifts with Library.
Skills and Qualifications: You should be between 16 to 25, however 12 to 16 year olds are welcome to buddy up with an older volunteer. Enthusiasm and be good with children. A love for reading and a pleasant happy personality. Physically fit able to lift, walk and stand for periods of time.
Training: Support will be provided by Katy Waters and library staff.
Travel Expenses: Yes, reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
