Poole Museum - Young Archaeologists Club (YAC) Leader

Role: We are looking for YAC Leader volunteers to help us run the Young Archaeologists Club (YAC) branch at Poole Museum. Volunteers are needed to help plan activities and run sessions for young people (aged 8-16 years old) focussing on archaeology and history using the resources of Poole Museum. The club meets on a monthly basis on Saturday mornings at Poole Museum (every second Saturday 9.30-13.30). There are Young Archaeologist Club branches across the country. The scheme is supported by the Council for British Archaeology who offer networking and training opportunities to volunteers.

 

Skills: You will need a sound knowledge of archaeology and history and some experience of working with children and young people (You will need to be DBS checked). You are able to stand for long periods and help with some lifting.
