Libraries - Reading Hack volunteer

Description: Are you aged 13-25? Are you passionate about reading? If so why not volunteer with our year-round scheme The Reading Hack. It’s an exciting new national programme encouraging young adults to share, inspire and celebrate reading. A hack is a “clever solution to a tricky problem, to hack is to modify or change something in an extraordinary way” (Urban dictionary). You can hack reading by doing any activity with reading at its heart. This could be anything from  a poetry themed DJ set, to  book related filmmaking or helping younger children read.Reading Hack will offer  you the chance to gain skills and experience, meet new people and add to your CV. 

Skills/Qualifications: Reasonable reading skills

Special Requirements: Enjoying working with children would be a benefit

Location: All Poole Libraries

Time and Date: Final times and days to be decided

Disabled access: Yes

Project Supervisor: Lucy Lumber

Applicants will have an informal interview with the project supervisor prior to being accepted.

Travel expenses will be reimbursed
