1. Poole Museum - Our Museum Project - Our Museum Project Lab Facilitators

Project Lab Facilitators

The Heritage Funded Our Museum project means working with volunteers, residents and the local community to co-create a brand-new maritime gallery at Poole Museum. To support this process, we’ll be running a ‘Project Lab’ space in the first-floor temporary gallery at Poole Museum. This space will offer visitors the chance to contribute thoughts, memories and ideas informing the design of our new maritime spaces.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help facilitate activities in the Our Museum Project Lab. This role will mean welcoming visitors and helping orientate them in the lab space, explaining activities where needed, and taking the opportunity to describe the Our Museum project, maritime collections and aspirations for the new maritime spaces. Volunteers will also be responsible for maintaining displays, disinfecting surfaces and pens, and ensuring visitors follow the guidelines in relation to Covid-19 when visiting the project lab space. Training will be provided on Covid-safe processes, as well as the Our Museum Project, collections and activities in the space.

Volunteer facilitators are welcome to join us for all or part of the exhibition run, on a part-time or full-time basis as agreed with the volunteer manager in advance.
