Phoenix Library Volunteer Census Support Advisor

Do you have IT skills? Would you be interested in supporting others? Are you passionate about helping vulnerable members of the community?

Sutton Council’s Cultural Services have been successful with their application to the Good Things Foundation to deliver a coordinated support service for those Sutton residents completing the upcoming Census. Census 2021 is the first to be run digital-first and ONS are aiming for 75% of responses to be online. At two of Sutton’s libraries, volunteers will provide IT support for the duration of the Census for those who are unable to complete an electronic questionnaire themselves.

The two Census Support Centres will be located within Sutton Central Library and Library @ the Phoenix Centre.

Cultural Services would like to welcome volunteers to this opportunity as a Volunteer Census Support Advisor to assist members of the public complete their Census forms online from within the library. Volunteers will be required to complete user-friendly online training in January/February 2021 and a standard DBS check will be conducted. The volunteer role will run from early March to May 2021 (inclusive) and a minimum of one 3 hour session per week must be completed, although additional hours or sessions will be welcomed.
