Volunteer Role: Hub Support Volunteer (Daily Operations)
Volunteer Windows: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Mon-Fri

This is a wonderful volunteer shift to sign up for if you are brand new to CityHeART, if you are volunteering on an irregular schedule, or if you simply want to drop in from time to time to support daily operations at The Hub.

Volunteers serve during one of two consistent windows:
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM.

Tasks vary depending on scheduling needs, volunteer interests, and qualifications. Each shift plays an important role in helping the day run smoothly.

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Shift

Opening & Morning Hosting Support

• Morning clean-up and light resetting of the space

• Prepare the front desk for the Host

• Prep coffee and refreshment tables

• Set up the welcome sign and open The Hub at 10:00 AM

• Greet guests as they enter

• Assist with coordinating appointments and reminders

• Make friendly follow-up phone calls

• Offer general hospitality and presence

This shift helps set the tone for the entire day and ensures The Hub feels welcoming and organized from the moment doors open.

12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Shift

Midday Hosting & Closing

• Greet guests at The Hub

• Assist with appointment coordination and reminders

• Maintain a calm and welcoming front desk presence

• Support guests as the day winds down

• Afternoon clean-up and light reset

• Take down the welcome sign and close The Hub at 2:00 PM

This shift ensures the day ends smoothly and that the space is cared for and ready for tomorrow.

Additional Opportunities (Based on Interest & Availability)

Depending on your interests and experience, volunteers may also support:

• Leading groups

• Gardening and outdoor beautification

• Preparing resource packages

• Organizing donations and resource rooms

• Assisting guests with computer access

• Facilitating workshops (art, self-care, yoga, music, cooking, etc.)

• Developing educational content for our YOU-Connect knowledge bank

• Conducting community outreach

• Creating content for publications

This position reports to the Program Coordinator.

Hub Support Volunteers help create the steady rhythm of our daily operations. Whether you serve consistently or occasionally, your presence helps ensure The Hub feels open, welcoming, and cared for.
