Volunteers assist with various administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, letter writing, etc.

Birthday Party Planners (Group Volunteers)
Birthday party volunteers plan and prepare the birthday party of the month at our shelter.
Planning and preparation would take place on the volunteers' own time beforehand. Great for groups of 2 - 8 people.

Birthday Party Crew (Individual Volunteers)
Birthday Party Crew volunteers facilitate Inn from the Cold’s monthly birthday parties.
No planning or prep is required. Birthday Party Crew volunteers run the party activities, ensure everything runs smoothly, and clean up after the party.

Dinner Service (Group Volunteers)
Dinner Service volunteers serve supper to families staying at the Inn. They perform all set-up and clean-up duties in the kitchen and dining room.
Each dinner service shift runs from 5PM - 7PM and requires 2 - 4 volunteers.

Family Facilitator (Individual Volunteers)
Family Facilitators support activities and programs for the children and youth staying in our shelter.
Opportunities for this position are available on weekdays and weekends. Priority will be given to those who can commit to weekly shifts.

Kitchen Support (Individual Volunteers)
Kitchen Support volunteers assist the kitchen staff with various kitchen and meal preparation tasks.
A minimum commitment of one 2-hour shift on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays once per month for six months.

Special Events (Individual and Group Volunteers)
Special Events offer the greatest flexibility and variety of activities for volunteers and are a great way to get started volunteering at Inn from the Cold. Special events volunteers assist in varying capacities with special events hosted by or in support of Inn from the Cold.

Back-Up Meal Service
This is who we reach out to when a group who has booked a meal service cancels with less than 2 weeks notice. We can combine groups, individuals, or pairs to make a full meal service group. You would set-up and clean up the dining room along with serving the meal to our families.

Family Facilitator - Homework Helper (Remote)
Homework Helper volunteers are paired with a student who is receiving housing support from the Inn. Each week, the student brings their homework and the volunteer helps them through the concepts.
This position requires some training and background checks.
