Education - Living Like Pioneers - Field Trip
If you are interested in helping with field trips but have not previously attended Field Trip Training, please email volunteering@yourmetroparks.net.
Event Description: What was life like for pioneer children during the 1800s in southwestern Ohio? Travel through this reconstructed historical village, meet the inhabitants, and even go to school! Learn skills and trades of the time, such as spinning yarn for clothes, making candles, and becoming an apprentice at the forge.
Location: Governor Bebb MetroPark 1979 Bebb Park Lane, Okeana OH 45053
Task: Volunteers will be provided with a written lesson plan to understand all aspects of the field trip beforehand, and will be asked to assist with the program setup and teardown of activity spaces, and assist in the lesson presentation.
Weather:
We will work through light rain, but cancel for thunderstorms or severe weather. Please check the forecast to ensure you all bring the necessary items and wear the proper clothing.
Accommodations:
The MetroParks may provide accommodation to volunteer project participants depending on the nature of the tasks. Any request must be sent directly to the Manager of Volunteer Resources at least two days before the project begins
