Education - Rooted Living: Intro to Horsemanship

Event Description:

Get up close and personal with Chrisholm MetroParks' equines! This class focuses on developing safe, confident, and respectful partnerships with horses and donkeys. Students will learn the foundations of horsemanship, including horse behavior and body language, safe handling practices, grooming, leading, tying, and basic groundwork exercises. This class focuses on groundwork, and there is no riding.

Task:

Assist staff by meeting participants, crowd control, and helping clean up.

Saturday, August 22, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Chrisholm MetroPark, (2070 Woodsdale Road, Trenton, OH 45067)

Weather:

We will work through light rain but cancel for thunderstorms or severe weather.  please check the forecast to ensure you all bring the necessary items and wear the proper clothing.

 

Accommodations: 

The MetroParks may provide accommodation to volunteer project participants depending on the nature of the tasks. Any request must be sent directly to the Manager of Volunteer Resources at least two days before the project begins
