Join us to support resident participation in our entertainment programs.

Weekly or monthly entertainment programs take place for residents to participate in.

Duties:

• Arrive 30-60 minutes prior to program to assist with set up
• Porter residents to program space
• Support residents during entertainment (reassure, redirect, etc.)
• Assist with preparing and serving refreshments, if offered
• Support residents post program to return to their home/rooms
• Assist staff with clean up post event

This is the perfect volunteer opportunity for individuals who are active, fit cyclists!

Our hybrid bicycle/wheelchair supports residents to get out and feel the wind in their hair and enjoying the fresh air rather than being stationary inside. This does require some skill and confidence in riding as you will not only be propelling a bike but also safely transporting another person (up to 200 pounds extra). This is an exciting opportunity for avid cyclists wanting to make a difference in the life of isolated seniors.

The duet bike requires specialized training (provided on site) and the schedule is flexible around the residents' routine.

We provide our residents with a variety of different church services here at Broadway Lodge. Some church services that we provide include:

Sunday Service

Wednesday Evening Service

Catholic Service

Bible Study

Duties for these services may include:

• Assist with portering residents to and from the service
• Assist with the service, and supporting participation

If you have a pet that is pre-approved by the BC Pets & Friends organization or certified with the St. John Ambulance pets program, you will qualify to bring your pet in for visitation.

Spend social time two-to-one (you and your pet) with a resident or we can arrange a group visitation with you and your pet!

The schedule is flexible to your needs around the residents' daily routine.
