Please ensure you fill out your application form completely and in detail. It is also important that you have indicated your availability (meaning when you most likely are able to come in) Weekly weekday volunteering is desirable. When filling out your application, please remember your username and password created for your application. Once you are registered, your username and password enable you to sign in an out at the volunteer kiosk computer station each time you volunteer.
Application preference is given to individuals who are mature, 17+, independent, self-motivated and able to volunteer 50+ hours (overall). Volunteers are needed mostly for weekdays. However, we do have volunteer opportunities in the evenings, weekends and stat holidays for independent experienced individuals.
NOTE:
In order for you to prepare for your interview, it would be helpful to research about CapitalCare, "Person Centered Care”, and about long term care residents who live in our centers. Following the interview, I provide you with a formal letter addressed to the law enforcement from Edmonton or RCMP for you to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Search Certificate. I will also provide you with CapitalCare reference form for you to obtain two references. Your orientation will take place once you have indicated to me that you are in possession of your clear criminal vulnerable sector certificate and the two completed reference forms. Your interview and your orientation appointment will take place during my business hours posted above.

FYI- I arrange for interviews and orientations via the email provided. Be sure to check your inbox and your junk folder. Depending on my schedule and how long it takes for you to obtain your Vulnerable Sector Search and References, your application / orientation process can take up to three weeks.
