DAM Makerspace Mentor
Role Title: DAM Makerspace Mentor
Location: Beaverton City Library Main, 12375 SW 5th St, Beaverton OR 97005
Commitment and Schedule:
- At least a 3-month commitment.
- At least one 2-hour shift per week.
Day and time slots available:
Current opening: Tuesday 2-4, Wednesday 2-4, Thursday 3-5
*Hours changing June 7th DAM Open Lab times fluctuate seasonally.
- Summer (June-Aug): Monday-Friday 12-4, Saturday-Sunday 3-5
- School year (Sept.-May): Monday-Wednesday 2-6, Thursday-Friday 1-5, Saturday-Sunday 3-5
- You may sub for other open labs throughout the week if one is available.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Support users working on self-directed projects including, 3D printing, Cricut Maker, sewing, crafting, art and more.
- Train users on safety rules and equipment use, encourage everyone to follow the Makerspace safety and community agreements.
- Be willing to try new things and learn together with crafters of all ages.
- Restock and clean throughout your session.

Qualifications:
- Interest and desire to engage while working with patrons.
- Ability to work and talk effectively with people from different cultures.
- Comfortable with asking questions and learning throughout the creation process.
- Patient, flexible, reliable, compassionate, encouraging. Someone who enjoys celebrating the successes of others.
- Technology skills are a plus - comfortable using computers for internet browsing and basic troubleshooting.
Age limit or range: 18+
Interaction: Supporting people of all ages with high- and low-tech projects.
