Shelver: Main Library
Role Title: Shelver
Location: Beaverton City Library Main 12375 SW 5th Ave., Beaverton OR 97005

Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Shelve library materials, including holds for self-service pick-up
- Tidy shelves and refill display stands, as needed
- Help library users with wayfinding and refer them to staff for other questions and services

Beaverton City Library receives and reshelves over 1,000 items each day - you can help us get those books, dvds, and more back on the shelves for library users to find!

Qualifications:

Attention to detail and the ability to put things in alphabetical & numerical order are critical for this role.

You should be comfortable on your feet for a full 2-hour shift, be able to push and lift a moderate amount of weight, and be able to reach and bend to put items on library shelving.
Age limit or range:
- 16+
Commitment and Schedule:
- We ask volunteers to make an initial 3-month commitment
- Number of hours per week: One 2-hour shift
- Day and time slots available: Multiple days and time slots are available. Apply and/or email mmcdaniel@beavertonoregon.gov for more information
- We generally like Shelver volunteers to come in on the same day and time each week, but we're happy to work with the occasional scheduling conflict.
Interaction:

Volunteers in this role will interact with and may receive direction from staff, but most work is done independently.
