Now there’s a date for the General Election, we need to find out what each party thinks about climate change and nature depletion – and more importantly what they plan to do about it!
PeCAN is looking for up to four volunteers to help us organise and host a Question Time-style public event for candidates in the East Hants constituency, date and local venue to be confirmed shortly.
What's involved?
Work with a PeCAN trustee and the other volunteers to produce and host the event. Tasks include:
- Create publicity materials and info sheet about candidates
- Encourage people, especially younger and first-time voters, to attend and ask questions
- Liaise with candidates and venue over logistics
- Welcome people on the day and collect questions for the chair
- Write up the event for local news and social media
What's the time commitment?
Probably 5 - 10 hours spread over two weeks, plus the event itself and any follow up. It depends how many people we have. You don’t need to be an experienced event organiser, just reliable and enthusiastic.
