Volunteer

PECAN are organising an evening with Southern Water, West Sussex Rivers Trust and many more local organisations involved with water.  They will share what they are doing in the local area and will provide an opportunity for the local community to ask questions  and find out how we can all help to improve our local water resilience.  The venue can hold up to 200 people and we are will have up to 12 stallholders at the event.  

We would love your support to help welcome the guests, stallholders and local community to this event.  There are several roles available for this event and there is no expectation for you to stay for the whole duration, but you are welcome to of course. 

There are several shifts, you can sign up to 1 or all of them. 

5:30-18:15 - help with set up

This will be helping to organise tables and chairs, helping the stallholders, setting up the PeCAN stall, and setting up the drinks stall. 

18:15-19:00 - Welcoming guests, helping on the drinks stall or the PeCAN stall

There are 3 areas where you can help during this timeslot.  The doors open to the public at 18:15 so you can help welcome them, ticking their names off a list.  We will potentially be selling drinks on a stall, so we will need 3 people on this stall, who are happy to serve alcohol and handle money. We will also have a PeCAN stall, so will need people to help represent PeCAN on the stall. 

19:00 - 20:30 - PeCAN stall, drinks and general support

This is when the talks start, so generally help get people to seats and to continue to help serve drinks and answer questions on the PeCAN stall. 

20:30 - 21:30 - PeCAN stall and take down/tidy up 

The event is due to finish at 21:00 although I suspect many will leave after the Q&A session, so generally helping with people leaving and also help put chairs and tables away.
