Volunteer Title: Membership Services Volunteer
Location: Various YMCA Locations
Reports To: Membership Supervisor, Membership Managers, Membership Staff, and Volunteer Coordinator

Note: This role has an age requirement of 18+ years.
Summary
The Membership Services Greeter will be located at the scanning station at the Membership
desk and will help welcome patrons and families to YMCA Calgary facilities. Membership Services Volunteers will provide answers to general questions in support of Membership Services.
Time Commitment
This position requires a 6-month commitment. Volunteers are expected to commit to one (1) volunteer shift per week. Shifts are 2 hours in length and scheduled times may vary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Health and Safety
- Maintain a safe environment by following YMCA Calgary policies and procedures
- Build relationships with members, participants, and YMCA staff and volunteers
- Communicate with YMCA Staff regarding any situations during your volunteer shift
Program Support
- Ensure safety, communication, and a sense of belonging are high priorities
- Manage risks associated with participation in programs
- Ensure Members are scanning their membership cards upon entry and redirecting to Membership Staff when needed
- Work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers
- Provide facility tours as requested
Skills

- Friendly and welcoming
- Ability to work in a standing position
- Previous experience in Customer Service is an asset
- Good communication abilities
