Volunteer Title: Child Care Administration Volunteer

Reports To: Administration Supervisor and Assistant

Note: This role has an age requirement of 18+ years.

Summary

The Child Care Administration Volunteer will be a supporting member of the Child Care Administration team at the front desk. The volunteer will be responsible for answering phone calls, filing documents, cleaning, and other administration duties as they arise. 

 

Time Commitment

This position requires an 8-month commitment. Volunteers are expected to commit to one (1) volunteer shift per week. Shifts are 3 hours and scheduled between 11:00AM and 3:00PM from Monday-Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities

Health and Safety

  1. Maintain a safe environment by following YMCA Calgary policies and procedures
  2. Build relationships with participants, and YMCA staff, and volunteers
  3. Communicate with YMCA Staff regarding any situations during your volunteer shift
  4. Ensure safety, communication and a sense of belonging are high priorities
  5. Work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers

Administration Support

  1. Following organizational procedures as it pertains to document filing
  2. Answering phone lines
  3. Maintaining a clean and organized front desk

Skills

  1. Ability to uphold and protect confidential information
  2. Proficiency in MS Office, excel and online resources as needed
  3. High level of customer service and emotional intelligence
  4. Able to work collaboratively with a team of people

Qualifications

  1. Clear Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (volunteer letter will be provided after interview)
  2. Three references (two professional - can be Teachers/Professors/Coaches/Mentors)
  3. Able to attend and complete required trainings
