POSITION OVERVIEW
Member and participant experience and satisfaction is everyone's responsibility. Cleanliness is of
utmost importance. Health & Fitness Weight Floor volunteers work together with staff by maintaining
a high standard of cleanliness and sanitization as well as providing assistance at the volunteer desk,
on the weight floor, and with other tasks needed.
Age requirement: 14+ Y
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe environment by following policies and procedures to manage risks associated
with participation in programs - Build relationships with the participants, their families and YMCA staff and volunteers
- Ensure safety, communication and a sense of belonging are high priorities
- Work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers
- Communicate with Health & Fitness Supervisor and/or Coordinator regarding any situations
during your shift - Clean Weight Floor Equipment following a detailed schedule
- Maintain Orderly Environment
- Answer General Inquiries

QUALIFICATIONS
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
- Three references – one can be personal reference
- Able to attend and complete required YMCA trainings which may be at various YMCA locations
- Available evenings and/or weekends if required
- Willingness to obtain WHMIS, supplied through YMCA Calgary
