POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Member and participant experience and satisfaction is everyone's responsibility. Cleanliness is of

utmost importance. Health & Fitness Weight Floor volunteers work together with staff by maintaining

a high standard of cleanliness and sanitization as well as providing assistance at the volunteer desk,

on the weight floor, and with other tasks needed.

 

Age requirement: 14+ Y

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe environment by following policies and procedures to manage risks associated
    with participation in programs
  • Build relationships with the participants, their families and YMCA staff and volunteers
  • Ensure safety, communication and a sense of belonging are high priorities
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers
  • Communicate with Health & Fitness Supervisor and/or Coordinator regarding any situations
    during your shift
  • Clean Weight Floor Equipment following a detailed schedule
  • Maintain Orderly Environment
  • Answer General Inquiries

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search 
  2. Three references – one can be personal reference
  3. Able to attend and complete required YMCA trainings which may be at various YMCA locations
  4. Available evenings and/or weekends if required 
  5. Willingness to obtain WHMIS, supplied through YMCA Calgary
