Educator - Lil' Explorer Adventure

Our Lil' Explorer Adventures program provide a space for young kids to use all five senses, be active in the outdoors and learn how to work together. Each session we will investigate a new theme through games, walks, crafts, stories and so much more! The 90 minute guided program. Adult chaperones are required to attend this event with their child.

This program occurs 9:15am-11:15am

• Tuesdays & Saturdays - Every other week

We may intermittently offer this at other parks.

How to Prepare: 

What to Know:

• Volunteers will support a HC staff member to conduct this program. Duties may include:
  • Setting up and cleaning up crafts
  • Monitor group and be on the tail end of a hike
  • Ask questions to youth to learn more
  • Report incidents and issues to the staff member assigned to the program
  • Set up and clean up program materials
  • Participate in activities (scavenger hunts, hikes, musical singing, dancing and instruments)
  • Check in participants
• Children age range: 3-4
• Children must attend with an adult

Accessibility:

• Volunteers are expected go on a short hike (less than 1 mile) on mostly flat, even terrain, stand/walk for up to 60 minutes. 
• Our department is committed to providing meaningful access to our programs and resources to all individuals, regardless of primary language or ability. Please note, it is not possible for all programs to be modified.
