Tree Care & Maintenance - Women's* Tree Planting Workday at Mendota County Park
Women and Gender Minorities Tree Planting Workday
It can often be hard for women, folks who are non-binary/transgender, and other gender minorities* to feel comfortable in male dominated fields such as forestry and conservation. This workday is focused on creating a safe space to learn about forestry and arboriculture and build community by volunteering. We will spend the morning planting young trees at one of our recreation parks. Join us for what will be a unique and rewarding experience. No prior experience is needed. All tools and training will be provided. Groups need to contact staff directly to register and talk over logistics. This workday is open to anyone for whom it would be a good place to work and learn.
Special thanks to the Foundation for Dane County Parks and A Fund For Women for making our Women and Gender Minorities workdays possible.
