Independent Volunteering: Wildlife Monitor
This activity is for volunteers interested in independently participating in wildlife surveys, monitoring or community science activities from a site within a Dane County Parks property. Specific activities may include surveying specific species, or installing, monitoring, cleaning, maintaining, and expanding various kinds of human-built habitat, including bluebird, kestrel, wood duck, purple martin, and bat boxes.
Required Qualifications:
- DCP Approved Wildlife Monitor
- Read more and complete a Wildlife Habitat Permit.
- Volunteers must match and work with a partner organization

Location:
This activity can occur at any Dane County Parks property. Any installation of wildlife housing that causes soil disturbance will need to be submitted to and approved by Dane County Parks.
How to Prepare:
- Must follow all guidelines set by partner organizations for habitat construction and installation.
