Earth Day Volunteer Extravaganza: Tree Planting
Dane County’s Earth Day Volunteer Extravaganza is taking place on Wednesday, April 22 from 2-5pm. There will be a variety of volunteer shifts, including teams of volunteers planting native trees.
Volunteers will work with forestry staff to plant native trees and prune existing trees. No experience is necessary. A Dane County Parks staff person will direct you. This is an outdoor opportunity and could be done in a variety of weather conditions. Volunteers in this role must be 14 and over.
How to Prepare:
What to Bring:
- Suggested: a water bottle.
- Anything else you need to be comfortable for your shift.
- Tools will be provided.
What to Wear:
- Wear clothing appropriate for the weather.
- Wear closed-toed shoes.
Accessibility:
- There will be bathroom access and a water fountain.
- This shift may require walking on uneven ground and lifting heavy objects.
