One-time Volunteer Groups
Have a group looking to for a volunteer project?! PRC is always interested in partnering with local clubs, schools, community groups, and businesses to help contribute to the efficiency of PRC. Groups are able to assist with laundry, dishes, gardening, enrichment, donation help, and special projects. We generally do not allow volunteer groups to work directly with the animals as those tasks require advanced training. However, there is always the opportunity to be around the animals and meet a few taken out by staff and trained volunteers while here!!! All jobs at PRC help contribute to the well-being of all our animals and finding them the best fur-ever homes possible!!
Group shifts are currently available Monday thru Saturday from 8am – 5pm. Volunteers will work out schedules with the Volunteer Manager prior to beginning volunteering.
Qualifications for this Activity: None
More Information: E-mail us at PRCVolunteer@HCFLGov.net
Are you an expert at giving love and attention to animals?
Our foster squad volunteers provide much-needed temporary homes for animals who require extra love and support before becoming available for adoption.
This can include animals such as orphaned kittens, nursing mothers, recovering surgery patients, and pets who need help correcting their behavior.

Time to Let Dogs Socialize!
Play Group Retrievers
Fetch dogs for social time on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri or Sat: 8:45am - Noon
Retrievers play an integral part in our shelter dogs emotional, physical and behavioral well being by bringing dogs to and from the play yard for Play Group. Play Group helps us meet our goal of every dog receiving out of kennel time (Every Dog, Every Day) and allows our dogs to express normal behavior under the Five Freedoms. Be a part of the Play Group Team by becoming a Retriever!
Help Our Dogs ROMP!
Assists Sunday - Saturday: 1:45pm - 5:30pm
It is a PRC Enrichment goal that all dogs receive social time with both canine friends and people friends. Help build our dogs people skills by volunteering as an In Yard Socializer; spending 20 - 30 min of one on one time with a dog, noting favorite toys and games and working on assigned skills if given by the ROMP Staff Lead.

Or maybe you're good at organizing and distributing items such as donations. We have several positions to help keep our dogs and cats happy and healthy!
PRC Volunteer Team Vision: To work collaboratively with all shelter departments to decrease pet relinquishment, increase adoptions, provide the best welfare while in our care and expand pet resources available to the community.
