In-personal volunteering where volunteers will connect with regular clients who live with Dementia and those who support someone living with Dementia.
Our social support Volunteers play important roles in people’s lives, keeping people connected, active, and able to participate in the activities.
The role of the volunteer is to actively contribute to clients and programs under the professional direction, guidance, and support of Dementia Australia staff.
Our social support programs aim to help support clients in developing social connections with people who are in similar circumstances and to reduce possible social isolation while allowing people to feel connected and normalised feature in the community.
Various Social Support Programs may include craft, carpentry, coffee, chat sessions, walking groups, sporting activities, men’s sheds and our Memory Lane Café program.
Volunteers will have a warm, welcoming approach, a genuine interest in others, happiness to help with practical tasks, and experience supporting someone living with dementia, which is desirable but not essential.
If you are interested in volunteering in another state, all you need to do is contact your Volunteer Coordinator.
They will be able to add you to another state.
