Board Service and Committees - Airdrie Meals on Wheels - Fundraising Officer

TITLE:   FUNDRAISING OFFICER (Director of the Board)  

Objectives: To raise the funds needed to maintain and develop the AMOW meal delivery service for Airdrie residents who are unable to shop or cook for themselves.


• Attend board meetings
• Design and develop fundraising activities
• Present proposals to the board for approval
• Enlist volunteers, businesses and others to participate in fundraising activities
• Organize and coordinate fundraising activities
• Advocate for AMOW
• Keep accurate records

• Good working knowledge of society bylaws, mission & objectives
   • Strong interpersonal skills
   • Strong organizational skills
   • Ability to generate enthusiasm for AMOW to activity participants
   • Creativity
   • Ability to delegate
   • Ability to deal with queries and/or complaints
Lines of communication:

• Report to President and other board members.
• Directly communicate with volunteers, local businesses and others associated with the fundraising activity  

Time commitment: Average of 20 hours per month


• Gain experience in building and working with committees
   • Play a key role in shaping AMOW’s future
   • Improve and practice organizational skills
   • Gain experience dealing with the public
• Gain satisfaction by making a meaningful contribution to AMOW and the community
