Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta (HFHSA) makes home ownership affordable for families to build strength, stability and independence. We build homes through community support and sell homes to families with no down payment, no interest mortgages giving them the financial stability and flexibility to make forward looking choices. Volunteers are at the heart of Habitat for Humanity. Our Chapters are like beacons in the community that reminds us that when we help one family, the whole community is transformed. All Chapter volunteers are champions for Habitat in their communities, they lead land search and acquisition and are active in ongoing fund development for the next build.
Responsible to: Chapter Chair and colleagues on the committee and sub committee
Affiliate Support: VP of Marketing and External Relations, Director of Regional Development
Commitment: A minimum of two years with an additional two year term; Commitment to attend monthly Chapter meetings, and regular/monthly Fund Development Committee meetings. Commitment is critical to participation and achieving outcomes. Missing three consecutive meetings will prompt a meeting with the Chapter Chair.
Role: The Chair provides support to the Chapter and Fund Development Committee and ensures that the program of activities developed by the Committee is shared and carried out by Committee members. The Chair’s leadership enables the Committee to fulfill its marketing, volunteer commitment and fundraising goals while raising awareness and understanding of Habitat’s mission to support local families through affordable home ownership.
