Board Service and Committees - Airdrie and District Hospice Society: Special Events Committee Member


Title: Special Events Committee Member


Department:   Service Coordinator or Board Member

Reports To: Service Coordinator or Committee Chair


Resource Person: Service Coordinator


Purpose:  To provide support in a Special Event or Program or in a Leadership role.


Major Responsibilities:

  • To take responsibility in a Leadership role or participate in an event we host or are part of. 
  • Examples of Key Events – Hike for Hospice, National Hospice Palliative Care Week, Tree of Hope, Airdrie Home and Lifestyle show, September Fest and The Airdrie Show and Shine.  Assist with Photographer, Communication/Media, Silent Auction, Set up, Take down, manning an information table, handling cash, distributing posters and other logistics and roles as identified for and during special events.


Training and/or Preparation:

  • Airdrie and District General Volunteer Orientation.
  • Training specific to the volunteer role.
  • Police Check with Vulnerable sector


Time Commitment: Meetings are once a month with action items between.

Location: Airdrie and District Hospice Society meeting locations are TBD Volunteers must be willing to travel to the location of the special event.
