Volunteer Opportunity: STORY TELLER/WRITER

Suitability: Individual Adult (18+) or High School Student

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Create content to be deployed to the museum’s website, Facebook
site and other social media platforms and the print medium.
Creating articles of interest that will promote our membership,
increase the number of people visiting the museum and its social
media sites and creating an improved awareness of the Nose Creek
Valley Museum and its activities.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
An encouraging environment that will allow you to use, further
develop and showcase your creative writing skills.
Access to all of the museum’s files and archives to assist in content
development.

The opportunity to work with a small staff and volunteer team that are
committed to telling the museum’s story and sharing the history of the
Nose Creek Valley.
Hours will fluctuate based on the weekly, monthly or quarterly
schedules required for distribution of articles to different platforms.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
The ability to work both independently and in a small team
environment.
The exhibition of the use of excellent writing skills.
The ability to communicate on all media formats would be an asset.
A passion for history, people and effective story telling.
An interest in local history.
A good eye for detail.
The ability to work to deadlines.
A desire to make a difference in the community.
