Opportunities at Foyer

Study Club Volunteer

Are you keen to connect with young people on an ongoing basis in a relaxed setting? Do you have study skills and are keen to motivate others?

We are looking for volunteers who are ready to ‘break the ice’, spark conversation and engage with young people. The space we create is safe, respectful and ultimately fun. We want you to be part of that!

Located in the heart of Leederville, we are home to 98 aspirational young people. Our diverse and inclusive community provides a springboard into independent living and an opportunity to thrive.

Driving Tuition Volunteer - RYDE

If you are passionate about supporting young people as they work toward their goals, then get in touch! We are looking for committed and compassionate volunteers to join our team as Driving Mentors within the Foyer Oxford RYDE program.

Often a barrier for young people is the accessibility of getting their driver's license. This could be a result of not having access to an appropriate vehicle, or a qualified person to spend all those hours in the passenger seat. The RYDE (Regional Youth Driver Education) program provides young people the opportunity to complete their 50 hours of supervised driving by connecting learner drivers with a volunteer Driving Mentor.

Operating out of Foyer Oxford, a cutting-edge youth housing service providing support to young people aged 16 – 25 who have experienced homelessness or risk of homelessness, we are looking for volunteers to support residents build both their confidence and hours on the road.

Do you have a particular skill or area of interest that you would like to share with others?  Then this could be the role for you.  Our team of Skillful Wizards have many talents that they share with the residents of Foyer Oxford from guitar lessons to cooking and yoga.  Whatever your skill is, we can use it!

Getting ready for independent living is about gathering the skills that many of us take for granted; learning to sew, cook, how to do taxes, what it means to set a budget, or just as simple as meeting new people… the opportunities are endless.

Social Someone

Our Social Someone's attend a weekly Sunday night dinner at Foyer Oxford and mingle with the residents. If you love to chat, enjoy a laugh, enjoy ice breaker games, then this could be the role for you!
