San Diego Pride

Help us greet our Festival attendees with welcoming smiles and energy as a Main Entrance Volunteer! We are the first experience for our attendees, let’s make it quick, fun, and exciting! 

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Supervisors of Entrances, Main Entrance Volunteers will: 

  • Greet/welcome all Festival guests as they enter through the Main Entrance

  • Ensure all guests make it through Entrances as quickly and safely as possible

  • Attend a training session by Supervisor/Specialist(s) prior to working at the Festival

  • Work a 5-hour shift which requires standing and/or being mobile for long periods of time

  • Stand near Shuttle arrivals to make announcements

  • Work crowd control at entrance lines and shuttle stop, actively directing people to prepare for entering the Festival (helps us get them in even faster!)

    • Have tickets ready to scan!

    • Where to purchase tickets if not already in hand

    • Those with bags/purses/backpacks will go through a security check for banned items 

    • On entry cannot take any open containers of liquid into the festival

    • Inform them that they are not able to take weapons/mace into the festival

  • Direct attendees to correct entrance for their needs

  • Assist the Supervisor(s) when/where needed

  • Maintain positive attitude while delivering outstanding guest service
  • May be asked to change locations and be flexible with assignments

Location: Check in at Pride Village near 6th & Juniper. Your shift will take place at the Main Entrance of the Pride Festival near 6th & El Prado. Festival Map.

Accessibility: This position requires standing and/or being mobile for long periods of time. Volunteers using a wheelchair or mobility device that are interested in this position are encouraged to sign up for the Juniper Entrance for a more accessible ground. This position requires flexibility and ability to adapt to changing and crowded environments. Breaks are provided.
