Parade - 2025 Parade Breakdown Team

Overview: Parade Breakdown Volunteers play a vital role in safely and efficiently dismantling equipment along the parade staging area and route after the last contingent has passed. This role is perfect for those who enjoy hands-on tasks, teamwork, and working outdoors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remove parade safety barriers, signage, seating areas, and other equipment.
  • Ensure a quick, safe, and thorough breakdown of the parade route.
  • Assist with loading and organizing equipment for transport.
  • Work alongside other volunteers while interacting with parade spectators and community members.

Location: Hillcrest; Check-in at the Parade Volunteer Check-in (exact location to be announced).

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy metal barriers and other equipment.
  • Comfortable working outside in warm temperatures and direct sunlight.
  • Teamwork-oriented and able to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Option to take breaks as needed.
  • May encounter various sounds, smells, and large crowds.
  • Flexibility required due to shifting breakdown needs.

Training or Support:

  • General volunteer info sessions will be available before the Parade.
  • Brief on-site training will be provided at the start of the shift.
  • Parade team members will be available for support throughout the shift.
