Parade - 2025 Parade Route Set-Up Volunteer
Overview:
PRST volunteers play a crucial role in setting up the necessary parade and pedestrian control measures to ensure a smooth and safe parade. This role is ideal for early risers who enjoy hands-on tasks, working in a fast-paced environment, and collaborating in a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up wayfinding signage, cones, markers, and other traffic control measures.
- Assist in staging the parade route for pedestrian and vehicle safety.
- Respond to any adjustments needed during the event to maintain a safe parade flow.
- Lift and transport equipment (assignments vary from 10 lbs to up to 50 lbs).
- Work as part of a team to efficiently prepare the route before the parade begins.
Location: Hillcrest; Check-in at the Parade Volunteer Check-in (exact location to be announced).
Requirements:
- Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.
- Enjoys teamwork and problem-solving.
Accessibility Options:
- Option to take breaks as needed.
- May encounter various sounds, smells, and crowds with many moving parts.
- Flexibility required due to possible last-minute changes.

Training or Support:
- General volunteer info sessions will be available before the Parade.
- Brief on-site training will be provided at the start of the shift.
- Parade team members will be available for support throughout the shift.
