San Diego Pride

Overview: Festival Accessibility Booth Volunteers help ensure an inclusive and welcoming experience for all attendees at the San Diego Pride Festival. Volunteers in this role will assist in the Accessibility Area, which includes the Accessibility Information Booth, Sensory Break Area, and Accessible Dining Area. This position is ideal for those who enjoy providing guest support, answering accessibility-related questions, and distributing mobility devices and support items. Volunteers can remain seated under a tent for the entirety of their shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attendees at the Accessibility Information Booth, Sensory Break Area, and Accessible Dining Area.
• Provide information on accessibility services and answer attendee questions.
• Check out mobility devices and noise-reducing headphones to guests.
• Distribute free support items such as earplugs, masks, fidgets, and accessibility maps.
• Provide 1:1 assistance to attendees with disabilities if needed.
• Maintain an organized and welcoming space for accessibility services.

Location: Accessibility Area at the San Diego Pride Festival, close to the Accessible Entrance on Juniper & 6th and the Volunteer Entrance nearby.

Requirements:

• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to work independently and assist attendees 1:1 if needed.
• Required accessibility training (details provided after signup).

Accessibility Options:

• Seated position under a tent for the entire shift.

• On-site support from the SD Pride Accessibility Team throughout your shift.
