SUMMARY: Starting the first week of April through Sacramento Pride March & Festival, the second weekend in June, we will be tabling right outside our front doors every Saturday at the Midtown Farmer's Market. We will be using the opportunity to engage the public and talk about Sacramento Pride and encourage community members to register as a volunteer for 2026 SacPride in June.

 

Volunteers will be coached and provided with answers to frequently asked questions so that they can be be knowledgeable and have quality conversations to drive up volunteer registration.

DUTIES:

  1. Assist with set-up and breakdown of table/chairs and pop-up canopy.
  2. Engage the community in conversations about SacPride's volunteer program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Passion for The Center’s mission and work to create a region where LGBTQ+ people thrive and a commitment to follow all policies and procedures of the organization.
  2. Experience working with the LGBTQ+ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQ+ people.
  3. Understanding of the historical context that created the need for Pride events for the LGBTQ+ community.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration statuses, and physical abilities in an intersectional environment.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. The person in this position may be required to sit or stand for extended periods, move objects up to 50 pounds, maneuver tight spaces, open and close boxes, and observe visitors. The person in this position will be required to convey detailed spoken instructions to others accurately, to hear, understand, and distinguish in-person speech, to engage in gross and fine manual manipulation, which may include seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s) and touching, picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

As an organization, we fully support COVID-19 vaccinations and are requiring new volunteers to have either proof of full vaccination, written notice of an upcoming vaccination appointment, or an approved medical or religious exemption. Documentation will be required prior to your first day of service.
