Animal Transfer Driver 

Help ensure animals receive safe, comfortable transport between locations while supporting the day-to-day operations of animal welfare services. This role is ideal for confident drivers who enjoy practical volunteering and contributing to positive outcomes for animals in need. 

Key tasks may include: 

• Driving an RSPCA vehicle throughout the greater Bundaberg area 
• Transporting domestic and wildlife animals safely between locations 
• Moving animals between animal care centres while ensuring their comfort and wellbeing 
• Collecting animals from veterinary clinics and transporting them back to animal care centres 
• Assisting with the collection and transport of donations when required 
• Supporting basic animal handling to help minimise stress during transport

Skills & requirements: 

• Valid Queensland driver's licence 
• Must be 25 years of age or older 
• Confident driving a large van and/or towing a trailer 
• Courteous and considerate driving style 
• Strong communication skills 
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 10kg 
• Confidence, or willingness to learn, basic animal handling skills 

When can I volunteer? 

• Regular rostered shifts are available 
• On-call driving opportunities are also available 
• Volunteers should be flexible, as travel times may vary due to traffic and weather conditions 

Important information: 

• No previous experience is required. Orientation and animal handling training will be provided. 
• An up-to-date tetanus vaccination is required before handling animals at the RSPCA. 
• A valid Queensland driver's license and minimum age requirement of 25 years apply.
