The Canteen is a kitchen on wheels that provides more than just food and drink. The sight of the canteen also brings encouragement, prayer, and support to first responders and those affected by disasters. Emergency responders are often working in remote locations in extreme conditions and must be willing to drop everything at a moments notice and enjoy getting up at all hours of the night to bring a little comfort and encouragement to friends and neighbors in need. Emergency responders will help with Emergency Disaster services such as local and/or area emergencies (fires, natural disasters, transportation accidents, civil unrest situations, terrorist attacks, etc.) in whatever capacity needed.
The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (SAEDS) team is looking for hard-working, compassionate, energetic volunteers who are willing to invest a small amount of their time to train and prepare for disaster response.
