Museum of Cambridge

We are recruiting for Volunteer Duty Managers!

Volunteer role description

The role of the Duty Manager Volunteer is to ensure that the Museum is safe, welcoming and accessible for all. It’s a fun, challenging and rewarding role that gives you the opportunity to work directly with our visitors and volunteers. Overseeing the day-to-day operations gives you the opportunity to really get to know the Museum and to play an important role in leading the team.

You will have keyholder responisbilities and be tasked with opening and closing the Museum at the start and end of the day. This includes setting up the till and coffee machine, completing health & safety checks, and welcoming our fantastic Front of House volunteers. During the day you'll be on hand to help should any issues arise or if any of the volunteers need extra support.

You’ll be given full training, including a Duty Management Handbook, an E-Learning Module and a shadowing day with an experienced Duty Manager. There will always be an experienced Duty Manager on the phone if at any point during your session you need some support!
