Volunteer Opportunities-Teen Center Programs
The City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine Department is leading the way in programming for teens. Within walking distance of area high schools at six local parks, Teen Centers cover every corner of the City. Activity-filled calendars are planned for fun, exercise, building confidence, growing friendships, and discovering talents. The doors are open for teens in Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine.
General Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older. (18+ Must be Fingerprinted/Livescan)
- Ability to teach and lead various recreational activities with staff assistance.
- Excellent character and possess maturity.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and adaptability.
- Ability to communicate and work with a variety of ages and skill levels.
- The desire and ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere.
- Ability to follow written and oral directions.
- Should enjoy giving back to the community.
- They should feel comfortable interacting with all members of the public.
- Express sensitivity to diverse populations (culture, age, language, etc.).
- Desire to have fun.
